Joachim first asked his sons consent
Prins Joachim of Denmark, who this Saturday is getting married for the second time, would not have done so if his two sons by his previous marriage to Hong Kong-born Alexandra Manley, would have objected. Joachim, second son of Danish Queen Margrethe, says so in a television interview to be broadcast by TV2 on Thursday.
,,My two sons Nicolai and Felix mean the world to me", the 38-year old Prince says. ,,I will not let anything come in between us."
Princes Nicolai, 7, and Felix, 5, are sensitive. Their response to the appearance of a new woman - Marie Cavallier - in their father's life took time to get used to, just as they had to contend with the appearance of a new man, Martin Jørgensen, in their mother's life. Countess Alexandra got remarried last year.
,,I have told them step by step about Marie", Prince Joachim tells. ,,Fortunately Nicolai and Felix are happy with Marie and she is happy with them". © GPD; Photos by © GPD AP
