Máxima flies home to check father's health

Argentina-born Princess Máxima of the Netherlands and her husband Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, together with their three daughters, arrived in Buenos Aires on Wednesday to visit Máxima's 80-year old father, Jorge Zorreguieta.

Although it is a private visit, the Dutch Government Information Service gave Dutch media ample warning; and impressed on them once again their so-called Mediacode, which prohibits the publication of pictures and footage taken of private outings and moments. It is a rule to which Argentinean media are not bound, as it is based upon European law.

Máxima and Willem-Alexander travelled to Argentina to give their support to Jorge Zorreguieta, who underwent knee surgery and got an artificial knee. They will only remain in Argentina for a couple of days. The princely couple spent New Year with Máxima's family, came over again at the end of January for Mr Zorreguieta's 80th birthday, and Máxima recently visited her native country again for the United Nations. © GPD Netherlands Press Association
