Victoria gives award to Finnish President
Crown Princess Victoria has been dispensing awards left and right these days. After handing the Junior Water Prize, and the Stockholm Water Prize last week during the World Water Week, the Swedish heir to the throne, was recruited to give President Tanja Halonen of Finland the Baltic Leadership Award.
The award of the World Wildlife Fund was given to Halonen for her active efforts to enhance the protection of the Baltic Sea at international level. Presented at a seminar in association with the Baltic Sea Festival in Stockholm, the award was in recognition of Halonen’s ‘persistent efforts to unite groups and encourage cross-border discussions on the future of the Baltic Sea.’
