The Luxembourg Court on Tuesday announced on behalf of Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa and Grand Duke Jean, the passing of Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Hohenberg and Princess of Luxembourg at 89. She was a sister of Grand Duke Jean.
The Princess of Luxembourg, Princess of Nassau, and Princess of Bourbon-Parma in 1956 married Duke Franz of Hohenberg (1927-1977), grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, whose assassination in Sarajevo in 1914 sparked the First World War. The couple had two daughters: Anita of Hohenberg en Sophie de Potesta.
The funeral will be held in Artstetten in Austria. A special Mass will be read in Luxembourg at a later date. © RB
