The funeral for the late Princess Ragnhild, Mrs Lorentzen, will be held on Friday 28 September in the Chapel of the Royal Palace in Oslo, the Norwegian Court announced. Princess Ragnhild passed away in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday. A memorial service was held for her on Thursday.
Her remains will be flown to Norway on Friday, where they will arrive on Saturday. Her brother King Harald V and sister Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner, will greet the casket on arrival on Norwegian soil. Princess Ragnhild, 82, moved to Brazil in 1953, shortly after her marriage to the Norwegian resistance hero and businessman Erling Sven Lorentzen.
The Palace announced the attendance of the adult members of the Royal Family at the service, where 120 people are expected to attend. Princess Ragnhild will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in Asker Church. © RB
