Serbian Crown Prince Alexander and his family on Sunday evening celebrated Christmas Eve - according to the Julian calendar, used by Orthodox Christians - at the Royal Palace in Dedinje.
The Crown Prince was joined by his wife Crown Princess Katherine, Prince Philip, Princess Lavinia (daughter of Prince Andrej and sister of Prince Vladimir), her husband Prichard Levy and their son Luca, Princess Elisabeth (daughter of Prince Paul), and Dragan Babic.
The traditional burning of the Yule log was performed in front of the Royal Palace and was blessed by Father Gaja Gaji, representative of St. Sava Temple and Father Panayotis Kartasios, representative of the Greek Orthodox Church in Serbia and clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Beside the members of the Royal Family there were also present members of the Gendarmerie, employees of The Royal Palace, as well as representatives of the media. The burning of the Yule log was followed by a traditional reception for all present at the Royal Palace .
The Crown Princely couple afterwards attended the Midnight Christmas Liturgy at the St. Sava Temple that will be
officiated by Patriarch Irinej of Serbia. © RB
