Argentine born Princess Máxima will attend the inauguration of Argentine Pope Francis - the former Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio - together with Prince Willem-Alexander and Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the Dutch government announced on Friday.
Prince Willem-Alexander in April 2005 also attended the inauguration of Pope Francis' predecessor Pope Benedict XVI. Máxima at the time was expecting her second child, Princess Alexia, who was born two months later.
Prince Willem-Alexander will be inaugurated himself in a few weeks time as King of the Netherlands, with Princess Máxima as his Queen-consort.
The inauguration of the Pontiff will be attended by a great number of royals, including the Duke of Gloucester who will represent Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Carlos Xavier, the Duke of Parma, and the Luxembourg Grand-Ducal couple with their son Prince Félix. © RB
