Queen Beatrix invited members of her family to Noordeinde Palace this week to attend the annual Queen's Day Concert - Koninginnedagconcert in Dutch. The Orchestra of the 18th Century, conducted by Frans Brüggen, performed in the Ball room of the Royal Palace in The Hague.
Other royal family members present were Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima - future hosts of a King's Day Concert in 2014.
Prince Carlos, Duke of Parma and his wife Princess Annemarie, Princess Margarita and her twin brother Prince Jaime also came to Noordeinde Palace.
Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus started the Queen's Day Concert's in 1985. Prince Claus was always closely involved in the organisation and planning of the event. The Orchestra of the 18th Century was the first to start the series 28 years ago.
The Concert will be broadcast on Dutch (29 April) and BVN Television (1 May). The Orchestra played the 4th Symphony of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and the 2nd piano concerto of Frédéric Chopin.
