The third anniversary of the death of Prince Carlos Hugo/Carlo Ugo of Bourbon Parma, Duke of Parma and Piacenza, was commemorated in the Steccata Basilica in Parma. The Duke of Parma - carlist pretender to the throne of Spain - passed away in Barcelona 18 August 2010.
Members of the noble orders of the ancient Duchy, such as the ‘Ordine Constantiano di San Giorgio’ which has its seat in the officially named ‘Chiesa Magistrale Constantiniana di Santa Maria della Steccata’ attended the Mass dedicated to the memory of Carlos Hugo.
The prince was buried in a crypt under the ancient and monumental church which hosts the annual meetings of the noble order which are presided over by Carlos Hugo's eldest son and heir Prince Carlos Xavier (Carlo Saverio in Italian), the present nominal Duke of Parma and Piacenza.
