The National Committee organising a celebration to say 'Thank you' to former queen Beatrix of the Netherlands has decided to postpone the party to an as yet unannounced date in 2014.
The decision does not come as a surprise. 'It would be inappropiate to have this celebration so short after the passing of Prince Friso', the Committee said in a press release Thursday.
Prince Friso, second son of the former queen who abdicated in April, passed away last week Monday, August 12, aged 44. The celebration for the outgoing queen was planned for September 14 in Rotterdam, with thousands of people from all across the Netherlands having been invited to the festive tribute 'Beatrix with heart and soul'. © RB; Photo by © DPP
