Both are 'neighbouring' countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as seen from the islands of Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire.
The royal couple started a string of short visits in May and has so far visited Luxembourg, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Norway and Sweden ans is scheduled to visit Russia early November. They will tour the 6 Dutch Caribbean islands starting November 12, and travel from Sint Maarten to Saba, Statia, Bonaire, Curaçao and finishing in Aruba, November 21.
Visits to Colombia (November 22) and Venezuela (November 23) have been added, the Dutch Government Information Service announced this week. The royal couple will be accompanied by no less than 3 prime ministers, those of Aruba, Curaçao and St Maarten.
Queen Beatrix paid a State Visit to Venezuela in 1987. Both Venezuela and Colombia are important trade partners for the Dutch countries in the Caribbean, as well as for the Netherlands itself. © RB; Photo by © RPE
