Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will visit Colombia and Peru in the first week of March, the Dutch Government Information Service (RVD) announced Thursday. The queen, who visited Colombia with her husband King Willem-Alexander in November, will spend time in Bogotá, Bucaramanga and Lima.
The queen travels in her capacity as UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Inclusive Finance for Development. She will meets with ministers and bankers, and will see for herself what is done in both countries to help low income families and especially women to become financially independent.
Queen Máxima will also meet with First Lady María Clemencia Rodríguez de Santos of Colombia and with First Lady Nadine Heredia of Peru. Both first ladies will accompany the Argentina-born queen on field trips in their respective capital cities. © Royalblog, Hans Jacobs
