The Moroccan royal palace says a doctor has ordered King Mohammed VI placed in convalescence for five days for a digestive infection.
A palace statement carried by the state news agency MAP cites palace doctor Abdelaziz Maauni as saying the infection poses 'no concerns for his health'. MAP says the king has a rotavirus infection with acute dehydration. Wednesday's statement provided no other details.
The 45-year-old king recently marked 10 years as monarch of this North African country allied with the United States and known for its moderate brand of Islam. GPD © AP
