Britain’s Prince Charles went to prison Thursday, but was allowed home at the end of the afternoon. The Prince of Wales talked to inmates during his visit at the Belmarsh prison in Greenwich, southeast London.
Belmarsh is a secure category A men's prison attached to a Crown Court, which in the past has held many high profile inmates as well as those concerning national security.
Belmarsh became operational on 2nd April 1991, and is a local prison, serving primarily the Central Criminal Court and magistrates Courts in SE London. GPD © AP
