Young Pieter van Vollenhoven had to wait for his baptim. Ten months after his birth on 19 November 2008 his parents Dutch prince Pieter-Christiaan and his mother Princess Anita brought him to the former royal palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn for an intimate family service in the old chapel.
"The service had many high points" Prince Pieter-Christiaan after the service, which was attended by many members of the Dutch royal family. Pieter-Christiaan, third son of Princess Margriet and Pieter van Vollenhoven (Sr.), saw all his siblings and their spouses and children gather in the chapel. Queen Beatrix' part of the family was represented by her sons Constantijn and Friso, with Princesses Laurentien and Mabel and their children. The Bourbon-Parma family was present as well, with Prince Carlos taking his long time girl friend to the family gathering at the palace, which is now a national museum - at only a few hundred metres from the place where the royal family was attacked on Queen's Day 2009.
