Princess Madeleine of Sweden is engaged. King Carl XVI Gustaf made the announcement Thursday morning. He has given his consent to the marriage of his youngest daughter and Chris O'Neill, 38. A date has yet to be set.
,,We will have to get back to you regarding that. The wedding will take place in Sweden sometime during the Summer of 2013", Princess Madeleine said in an interview published on the royal web site.
Madeleine will keep her place in the line of succession and will keep her royal titles. Possible titles for Chris O'Neill will be decided ahead of the wedding, a court official said. Madeleine said 'we are both extremely happy and delighted. It is a very special day for us'. Chris proposed at the beginning of October. "It was a very romantic and intimate proposal, but more details about the proposal we want to keep to ourselves."
Princess Madeleine, 30, has been engaged before. In August 2009 the King announced her engagement to Jonas Bergström. In April 2010 the Court said the couple had decided to separate.
