The Royal Netherlands Mint is issuing a special coin of €2 to commemorate the abdication of Queen Beatrix and the subsequent inauguration of King Willem-Alexander. Both will appear on the coin, which was revealed on Wednesday, and which will become available next week.
The Royal Netherlands Mint issued a similar coin in 1980 for Queens Juliana and Beatrix. Of the new €2 coin some 20 million will be minted, the Ministry of Finance which commissioned them, said. © RB
