Prince Friso of the Netherlands started his last journey Friday morning as the coffin with his remains was brought from his mother's home Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague to Lage Vuursche in the centre of the country. The hearse arrived in Lage Vuursche around 10 AM local time.
Prince Friso, 44, who passed away Monday will be buried at the local cemetery after a service in the protestant Stulp Church, adjoining Drakensteyn Castle where Friso's mother Princess Beatrix will move at the end of this year.
The Dutch Royal Family will be joined by King Harald V of Norway, godfather to the late Prince Friso. The area around the cemetery and church have been sealed off to allow for a truly private funeral as per the wishes of the royal family.
