King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima used their private
holiday in Greece to make a courtesy call to Greek President Karolos Papoulias.
The Dutch royals visited him in Athens on October 22, the Government
Information Service announced.
After they were forced to abandon a controversial holiday home in Mozambique, Willem-Alexander and Máxima, ended up finding a holiday villa in Greece. This Summer saw them use it extensively for the first time.
Previously Italy was the Dutch royal family’s destination of choice with both Queen Juliana and Queen Beatrix spending their Summers there. Willem-Alexander and his brothers co-owned the holiday home in Tavarnelle his mother uses frequently.
In Greece the Dutch King and Queen, who this Summer met with King Constantine and his family not far from the royal holiday home, also visited Orange Grove, a project helping young entrepeneurs from both countries set up a company. © RB
