The Dutch royal family on Monday took time out from their skiing holiday in the Austrian resort Lech to pose for pictures. The young princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane were keen to show their prowess on ski's, and they were flanked by their cousins, the children of Prince Constantijn and the late Prince Friso.
The royal family marked the 2nd anniversary of the ultimately fatal skiing accident of Prince Friso, who was hit by an avalance while skiing off piste on the last day of his holiday in 2012. He died 18 months later in The Hague.
The presence of his widow Princess Mabel and their daughters countess Luana and countess Zaria did not go unnoticed. Mabel did not join the family in skiing, the young girls did. Later in the afternoon they were seen playing the snow in front of Gasthof Post, the traditional residence of their grandmother Princess Beatrix while staying in Lech. © Royalblog NL, Hans Jacobs
