Whether opening a new cheese making facility or attending an exchange for volunteer services, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands knows how to have fun, put everyone at ease and shine through the proceedings.
In Alkmaar the Queen opened an exchange commercial companies offer their knowledge and expertise to non-profit organizations with a social objective. During the so-called 'match event 'several hundred companies and civil society organizations met at the exchange, to see the offers could be linked with a particular need.
In Westbeemster, right in one of UNESCO heritage the polders of North Holland province, the Queen opened the new building of cheese factory CONO, designed as a rectangular abstract variant of the farmhouse, a characteristic building in the Beemster polder. And of course there was plenty of cheese to try, and there were many cheeky photographers asking the Queen to say 'cheese'. Cheerfully she did.
