Belgian King Albert and Queen Paola have changed their wedding contract, Flemish newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reported on Wednesday. Although the change was officially announced no further details were given.
Experts think the retired king wants to ensure his wife is not left out in the cold should he die before here. King Albert turned 80 last year.
Albert and Paola married in 1959 but kept their estates separate. Since the king acquired quite some real estate and he also owns a multi-million yacht. Het Nieuwsblad thinks he could have transferred some of his wealth to Queen Paola, or have brought it into a joint estate.
