Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will travel to Barcelona on March 2 to give a speech at the ‘GSMA Mobile World Congress 2015’. She will speak in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.
Part of the World Congress at Barcelona’s famous FIRA is the so-called Mobile World Summit which addresses the issue of ‘Enabling Digital, Financial and Social Inclusion’. Part of that is ‘Connecting Billions Across the Developing World’.
Queen Máxima will share her ideas and experiences of recent travels and talks on how mobile banking can assure more people in the world to have access to financial services. Billions in the world do not have that access but would benefit greatly if they did. Access is not limited to banking, but also to insurance, loans, pensions or the possibility of saving.
The meeting and speech of Queen Máxima are behind closed doors. No media are allowed to cover the event. © RB
