Dutch Princess Amalia, 11, on Wednesday went camping with her new classmates. The camp is part of the introduction week of the Sorghvliet School and gives the new arrivals a chance to familiarize themselves with teachers, each other and school life. During the three day camp they will play games, take part in a quiz and perform in a play.
Amalia and her classmates were advised to leave expensive equipment like iPods at home, but a cell phone could also be brought along. The guide line for pocket money was to bring no more than five euros.
Queen Máxima said the first school days of her eldest daughter had gone well. The queen was asked about it Wednesday after the opening of the Papageno House for children with autism in Laren. "You know, it's the first week. So it's all very exciting", Máxima said. "Her mother is with her all the way", she added.
