Rain could not spoil the mood of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia on the second day of their introductory visit to Värmland. Armed with umbrellas the newlywed royal couple appeared Thursday morning for a boat ride through the provincial capital, Karlstad.
Carl Philip and Sofia, who have the title of Duke and Duchess of Värmland, again had a busy programme and were met with well wishers and curious Swedes wherever they went.
The couple had spend the night at the Governor's residence, where they were alos invited for dinner Wednesday evening. Prince Carl Philip showed himself protective of his wife, who was making her debut on such an official visit. But Princess Sofia clearly held her own, and showed she was well prepared when donning sensible boots for the outing in a nature park earlier.
